Yay
Congrats!

I understand why it's discouraged. A thread could suddenly increase by 8-pages if a bunch of contributors kept reposting trying to be #10 or whatever the game called for.

So we can post multiple times in the club? or next time only once?

The problem with chests, especially when you have a lot of toys, is that items get buried. I want to be able to see my collection and decide what I want to use without taking everything out every time.
I have everything in the tote and now maybe I should change that since I am always digging through trying to find what I want!

I just need a special " Me" room to house all of my fun stuff.

I have the same problem. Most of mine are in a compartment in our head board that is about 12" deep and only 16" long. Most of that one is full of toy pouches so I have to feel each one to figure out what toy is in there. My other storage areas are jammed full so I have to pull toys out just to find the one I want.

I am really liking your idea!

My other idea was a big flat tray that you can slide under the bed. So again, flat so you can see everything. This would need a way to customize little compartments for each toy to keep them separated. Unfortunately, this idea wouldn't work for our bed.

All right by me.

I guess it comes down to the wording of the question, if the question says "Third person..." I would take it as an individual, whereas if it says "Third correct answer" I take it as the third answer. But yes, for future reference post as much as you like.

I like that idea. It reminds me of thing I store my shoes in you can see through it and each pair of shoes has own compartment. I would have never thought toy storage when looking at it, but now I will!

I was just thinking of a shelf of sorts that could lay flat against the ceiling or wall and be lowered down by ropes and pulley's. We have an under-dresser so, like you, a tray under the bed would not work.

Shoe storage is the basic idea I have, but the ability to customize the size of the compartments is what I need. Many toys will not fit in the standard shoe sized compartment.

I wonder what would be required to make it a padded toy box?

Well folks, my kids are screaming for dinner so I am going to head out for a bit.

Keep the ideas coming, I have not nailed down next months meeting so I might just grab one of your ideas and do it.

Thanks so much for attending tonight! Sure happy to see y'all here and I hope everyone will give the box a try. Feel free to ask any questions you may have about the box or about anything else for that matter.

Depends what you want to pad it with. You could use something as simple as foam core, or you could use furniture padding, fabric, and furniture tacks to make it nicer.

Pretty easy really, just glue a layer of foam to the board and cover with the material before assembly. You could also make a insert of sorts, just wrap the pre-cut foam with fabric and glue them in with contact cement.

I have a hole in a wall that needs patching, a small leak under my kitchen sink and the wife's car needs an oil change. ???

The hard part for me is deciding on something to do, as I work at a Big Box store I am always helping folks do stuff around the house or fix things. That's why I look to you folks for ideas about what YOU would like to see.

Well this one kind of really helped me. I am really looking into a hope chest...if it's even call it that anymore.

I still hear them called that from time to time. Most people use them for blankets and such. Lining them with cedar makes them smell good and keeps the bugs away.

I've always wanted one cause my mom and grandma had one. My husband always says he'll make me one but it always ends up on the back burner and has yet to be made.
