I love thin crust. That's where it's at in NYC. I also like to make my own pizza. I make a garlic basil dough by sauteing garlic in olive oil, letting it cool, and the incorporating it into the dough.

I like a non-chain pizza place thin crust pizza...either a pepperoni pizza or a white pizza with garlic and oil.

I like deep dish, thin and hand-tossed crusts. It really depends on the mood I'm in and always like thin sauce otherwise the tomato overpowers the other flavors.

I have always preferred a thin, almost cracker-like crust and used to have the darndest time finding any thin crusts. Then I discovered white style & it changed everything because red sauces are hard on my system, though I like them enough.

Recently, I have been getting the California Pizza Kitchen frozen pizza and I can control how well done it is, which is something that is always a problem with take out - I like my food well done & browned! Big fan of caramelization & the Maillard rxn, lol!

@Mwar, I really want you to cook for me, I'd pay you! Your Mac & Cheese and now this pizza...yummy goodness. You sound creative in the kitchen, but also like similar enough things to what I like, as well as understanding some food rituals, lol!

I also like all of my stuff well done and browned. Very, very picky about the color of my food.

OMG, me too! Everything tastes so much better/different when the browning reactions occur. It does look better browned, from a visual standpoint. I guess a lot of people don't know the difference and that the taste is actually altered.

I am such a pain in the ass that I prefer to bring some things home & redo them the way I want to get the browning without them burning it. I don't know why food places think well browned means burned.

Here's a good video about the Maillard reaction & caramelization

Have you seen this?

I am sooo the same way!!! When we get a frozen pizza or even a pizza delivered, it goes under the broiler until I'm satisfied.

Thanks for the link, that's so interesting, but doesn't surprise me in the least - & I bet it doesn't surprise you, either!

@wetone123, I like everything crispy!

It sure didn't! I want things to crunch in my mouth - hubby is from up north and he loves "soggy bread" oh god it makes me gag so hard!

Might as well eat raw dough! I see your "gag so hard" and raise it to a "projectile hurl" ! Think dumplings, gnocchi, matzo balls, Wonder Bread... oh God, I'm making myself nauseated, lol! I may have unusual tastes/preferences to some, but I have strong reasons for all of them and mostly it's because I have a highly developed gag response! (Yeah, I don't even think about deep throating so, I've been spared the resultant humiliation!)

Pizza is a weakness of mine. It doesn't agree with my stomach, but I love it so much.

Thin crust is probably my favorite. It pretty much has to at least have pepperoni or it doesn't taste like a pizza though.

I love any and all pizza! But I especially love to make my own English muffin pizzas, it's so easy! I put a spoonful of sauce, a handful of shredded mozeralla cheese, and I put pineapple on it. Then I bake it in the oven for maybe 15 minutes or less. It's delicious!

I LOVE deep dish pizzas. Screw thin crust, I want the thickest most packed pizza I can get! Load it with olives, mushrooms, pepperoncinis, spinach, feta, onions, bell peppers, artichoke hearts, anchovies, zucchinis, fresh basil and a ton of herbs. Awesome!

Yep, yep. I was being polite in my first response...I have a huge gag response to things like that and it's quite troublesome. There's a ton of stuff I just cannot physically swallow.

The main thing for pizza is it can't be overly greasy. If the box is getting translucent from the pizza I don't want it. Light sauce and whatever toppings I want. YUMMY!

Well, I guess I can always be counted on not to worry about being polite Yeah, I frequently go into the realm of TMI, oops! I can't believe I've finally met someone with the same affliction! My mom is the only other one I know. Usually, I have to take a bite of something crunchy after something that can get to be too much, like a sandwich. So chips, pretzels or pickles/veggies help - but I'd rather just eat the sandwich filling on a cracker, not bread! Pasta is a problem for me, anything with dough, but rice I'm good with.........I think I will start a separate discussion on this topic!

@ SickOnSin, oh yeah, grease, not appetizing at all! I remember in college, there was a family pizza place that made good pizza, but they used really high quality cheese and if someone ordered extra cheese, I would have to dab the top of the pizza with paper towels to get the oil from the cheese off. Now I couldn't even do a work around, I would just starve.
