Spaetzle From Scratch

Contributor: MaiNai MaiNai
Easy, fun, and impresses friends!
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
3/4 cup milk
Mix together flour and salt. In a separate bowl, combine eggs and milk, then mix into the flour mixture.
Drop small amounts of the dough into a large saucepan/pot of boiling water. Allow them to cook for 2-3 minutes (they will usually float to the top when fully cooked, but may get stuck). Gather with a slotted spoon. Be careful not to overcrowd the spaetzle, as this will hinder their cooking.
Stir in melted butter to keep the spaetzle from sticking. This recipe is good as a side dish for 2-3 people.

Nice recipe, very close to my own Just for anyone interested, speatzle are supposed to be about the size of a fat drop of rain, so pushing your batter through a colander with big holes, or through your cheese grater on the widest hole setting, is perfect
