Options for Fondue

I will be attending a fondue party but have given up bread for Lent. What are some other options for dipping in cheese? I was thinking granny smith apples. Thoughts? Suggestions?

Your apple idea sounds yummy. We usually do some vegetables like brocolli, cauliflower, and cherry tomatoes.

I love apple and cheese. Pears and cheese are good too but pears are so soft.

There are actually a few hard-to-find varieties of European pears that are meant to be eaten while they are crisp. For fondue, an Asian pear may be a better bet since they are usually ripe while still crisp.
