OK, not to sound weird but would you find heavy cream in the dairy section or is it someplace else altogether like the deli or specialty food?

I use the cream, but not the sour cream. I also mix in roasted garlic with mine.

Living right next door to Canada I have weirded out a lot of customers at work by telling them to have a happy Thanksgiving!

Dairy section - located next to the half-n-half and whipping cream.

It should be right next to the half and half in the dairy case.

It's in the dairy section. Usually buttermilk and heavy cream are in the very top, because they're not bought as often (and their containers are smaller).

We're talking about cranberry sauce by special request---when we were first talking about having a holiday party merged with Eden Cooks ( at the community planning meeting---which everyone is invited to show up for!), the very first thing Kindred said was "can we have a recipe for cranberry sauce? It makes me sad to see people open up a can of something that's really simple to make."

I'm glad to oblige---cranberry sauce is one of the staples at my home table, and it is very simple. It takes only three ingredients.

Antipova's Family Cranberry Sauce
1.5 cups water
1.5 cups white sugar
4 cups cranberries (fresh or frozen both work perfectly well)

Trivia: The flesh of the cranberry is quite sturdy---if you buy them fresh at the store you can try to squeeze one between your thumb and forefinger. Are you able to pop one? Probably not---whole semi trailers are filled with cranberries during harvest---and the ones at the bottom don't get smashed!
