When you make cookies or buy prepared dough, do you bake them or eat them raw?
Dough or baked - How do you prefer your cookies?

My logic:
If you eat the cold/frozen dough, your body burns more calories heating the food in your body. This makes them healthier!

Hahaha I love your logic!
I also love cookie dough in pretty much any form, and I'll normally pick that over baked cookies if given the chance. However I do enjoy me a good cookie from time to time. I use those legs I have there to walk me on over to grab some.

I used to eat raw cookie dough all the time...but now I make a special version of the dough that's ok to eat raw. It doesn't have any eggs in it, so it's safer to eat it raw. I still think I like baked cookies better, though, but sometimes I want that cookie taste fast and/or cold.

I never really ate cookie dough... maybe I give it a shot? My big thing with cookies is that they MUST BE SOFT! Oreo cookies are fine the way they are, but I can't think of any other cookies I like that are hard. (I feel like I am setting myself up for innuendos here, hahahaha). Cookies must be soft!

I love warm cookies fresh from the oven. Of course, I have to eat some of the dough while I'm making them!

You don't like gingersnaps, Gary?
Where's the option for "I don't care what state they're in, just don't get your limbs anywhere near my mouth"?
(If that isn't a classic food addict response, I don't know what is. :-/ )

I like my cookies baked, but before I put them all in the oven I tend to eat a little raw dough
06/13/2011
Generally I like dough better, but certain cookies I like best when cooked. Chocolate chip is my favorite as dough, sugar cookies and spicier/more complex cookies I like baked. Stuff like peanut butter cookies can go either way.

When I bake chocolate chip cookies I always end up eating some raw dough. It's delicious, and ritual. I figure if after all these years I haven't gotten sick, it won't kill me.

Baked! The real question for me: soft, or crispy? How about crispy-cum-soft? Oreo in milk... nilla in pudding... mmm.
06/13/2011
I love raw dough, but why in the world would you refrigerate it? You're eating cookie dough, don't worry about burning extra calories, just eat a popsicle when you're done, JR.
Straight out of the bowl, baby.
I guess I prefer my gingersnaps and snickerdoodles cooked. And lemon zest cookies, and other things that need icing. It's been a loooong time since I've made lemon zest cookies, I ought to get on that.

Nothing beats a good cookie dough. But depending on the cookie, cooked can be tasty too.

I've tried raw cookie dough, and ick. Raw cake batter, though, licked from the beaters ...

not good to eat raw dough, it has eggs as an ingredient.

I like em baked.. But whenever I make cookies, half the dough gets eaten by everyone in my house

raw
06/14/2011
Well, I love cookie dough raw and baked. I always eat half of the dough raw and the other half baked! It's so hard to choose! lol
06/14/2011
Baked.
I've heard raw cookie dough can have worms, because of the egg.

Yeah, that's what I heard. They can harbor worms or some such.

OMG. I can't bake cookies without eating most of the raw cookie dough. It's gotten so bad that my partner makes sure I'm not eating the roll while I'm putting them on the pan. I'm picky, though. I only eat chocolate chip cookie dough raw. Om nom nom.

Dude, your logic is much like mine. It is very smart. Falls into my zero calorie Dairy Queen treats. 10 min walk there, eat it, 10 minute walk uphill to get back home. Totally burns it all off

I am not a huge fan of hard cookies either. Oreo's and Fudgeo's are about it. Otherwise, chewy chips ahoy all the way.

And the dough it self is the NOM

Fresh chocolate chip dough is great - but I'm also in love with fresh baked CC cookies and milk.
06/14/2011
I'll take them any way I can get them!

This! This is how I rationalize my guilty ice cream pleasure in the summer, I seriously believe it works though- you are still burning calories either waay.

I love to bake cookies but about half of the dough makes it to the oven... so my answer to your poll is yes. Lol

I had these really soft gingersnaps one time (they were a little more cakey than sandy)... they were great!
