Does name brand matter?

Does name brand always matter when it comes to food?

If so, which foods, and what kind of differences do you notice?

And are you loyal to a certain brand, or does it just have to be any big-name brand?

For a lot of things brand names do matter to me. Its a quality issue. Sometimes though the generic is better than the brand name.

I've learned throughout the years that there are some generic foods that are better than name brands, and there are some that absolutely are not worth the pennies saved. I choose to skimp on brand name household items (paper towels, toilet paper, some cleaning solutions and accessories, i.e. sponges) so I can apply that savings to the difference in name brand food items. I wouldn't buy Kroger mayo over Helman's, that kind of thing.

Same. Most stuff I buy generic but other's I have found are horrible. I have yet to find a good tasting generic poptart.

Sometimes it matters. However, money is tight here so we've had to expand our generic horizons. It is what it is.

For some things it does. I like store brand things most of the time, but store brand ketchup sucks.

I think name brand products are best except for canned beans.

Only for Heinz Ketchup (since they added Simply Heinz made with real sugar, not HFCS). And if my local grocery store had a store brand that tasted as good, I'd go with that.

It completely depends on what it is. Ketchup? Generic is awful, but Hunt's is great. Same with American cheese - Kraft is great, generic is kinda scary. Yellow mustard? I can't tell the difference

i'm honestly not all that inrested in brand names, mostly because when it comes to food products i always read labels and go with the cheapest option that is best for me.

I do think that quality can come from one line and once you find what you like, it's good to stick to it. In all things, too -- clothes, food...vibrators.

Depends, there's certain brands I'm very loyal to because I KNOW they're good quality, non-toxic (non-perservative pumped/GMO filled/hydroginated fatty/etc. with food) and well priced. With toys I'm pretty loyal, since I have experience with a lot of brands and my friend AND one of my roommates work at a sex shop and give me advice if I'm looking for something.
