Recipes....not creative enough to whip up something on my own!!
Do you primarily cook from scratch/recipes?

I rarely use a recipe, but nearly always cook from scratch.

When I cook Chinese food, I don't use any recipes. I grew up watching grandparents cooking Chinese food, so I basically try mimic what they do.
When I cook western food, I generally go to Google, and find recipes for them.

I cook from recipe almost all the time, but I never ever follow it to the letter. I always have to tweak and experiment.

I cook from scratch most of the time. Sometimes i use recipes for inspiration but i never measure and i always add my own touch. My mom had her own greek/american resturant so i guess cooking is just in my genes.

Usually recipes, but the two dishes I make most often have been adapted from restaurant dishes and some recipes. I still haven't written them down properly >.<

I'd like to cook more from recipes but I am often too lazy/tired

I'm what's called a "Betty" cook. I cook mostly from a box/can, but can whip up something from scratch from fresh ingredients. Unfortunately, I have a limited library of recipes in my head.

I like to bake (sweets tend to be the most fun), but am not so good with cooking. This means I tend to rely on canned foods or easy to make foods for the most part. When it comes to baking I loosely follow recipes, and tweak them more and more each time I make them. Though since I am trying to lose weight these days I haven't baked in a while.

I'll admit that I mostly cook from packages (it's a laziness factor more than anything, although it does depend on the dish) but when I bake, it's always from scratch.

I hate cooking, but I will occasionally use recipes. Under protest.

I don't cook from recipes, I make up my own. I started cooking when I was two (scrambled eggs) and normally I can just make something up or already have a recipe memorized.

I'm not a good enough cook to improvise. >.<

Depends on what I make. Anything that requires precision I use a recipe but for soups I just experiment...

Scratch only! We never had mixes in the house as a kid, so it would just be weird to start now. Plus, I love making things from scratch!

Many times, when I try new things, I will use a recipe as a guideline and just do as I please. However, with baking, there is MUCH less leeway. But I do wing my own cakes and cookies.

usually recipes.

I generally bake from recipes because in those cases your product can vary a lot depending on the proportion of ingredients. As for regular cooking, I do cook a lot from scratch using recipes, but, since we've got 3 kids and we're broke, I'm also good at repurposing 'packaged' foods into new things. I like to play around with ingredients and stuff tho so it doesn't get too boring.

Sometimes I cook from recipes. Depends on how hard it is.

I seriously can't cook at all unless I have recipes that guide me through every step, sadly.

I often cook from recipes, but more often I just throw things together without a recipe. I like just mixing stuff together. XD And then sometimes I make from prepared foods.
05/11/2012
I cook about 50% from recipes. Baking about 95% from recipes.

I have a recipe as a base and go from there!

I cook mostly from recipes, but I sometimes cheat and use packets for certain items.

I eat premade food or food cooked by others....I am a great cook, but live alone and have a debilitating disease that makes it easier to buy than make a mess I have to clean up.

I voted sometimes I cook from recipes. Often I don't use recipes though and just cook. But I make most stuff from scratch, whenever I can.

It depends, my cooking style is 1 part recipes to 3 parts trial and error. Which works out well... most of the time.
