I mostly cook from scratch...about 85% percent of the time. Do you cook or bake from scratch? Or do you use things like cake mixes, prepared frosting, etc?

I usually bake from scratch. Unless it is unexpected visitor time..I keep a couple mixes to whip up if we get company that stays for dinner.

If I have the time I prefer to bake/cook from scratch. It's fun and I like knowing exactly what's going into my food.

Always from scratch! (edit - except for the occasional box of Velveeta. Can't replicate that cheesy goodness!)

If I have time to cook from scratch then that's the way I go.

I never use prepared mixes or frostings, with two exceptions: we keep pancake mix around and use that from time to time, and I do buy pizza dough premade most of the time (generally, if I decide to make pizza, I don't decide it the day before to give myself time to make dough and let it rise...).

Most of the time, except for the store-bought Stagg chili, I think it's too much of a hassle to make.

I do a lot of cooking from scratch, but it does depend on how busy I am. I love trying new dishes/types of cuisine, and browsing for recipes and making themselves is the cheapest and most efficient way to do that. I'm not really one for baking, though, except for a special occasion; I just feel like it means putting a lot of effort into something that isn't even going to be a full meal.

It depends on my mood, and how late I had to work that night. I do use a fair few convenience products, but my brownies are always from scratch.

I wish I made more stuff from scratch, but I often opt for the quick and easy box mixes or refrigerated cookie dough. Homemade is always better!

I try to cook totally from scratch though occasionally I will take some help from canned stocks and things like that. Before my wife was diagnosed with Celiac Disease she always baked from scratch, I miss those baked goods.

I like to do my baking from scratch. Every once in a while I will cook from scratch. Just depends on what I'm in the mood for.

I like to cook from scratch although sometimes that isn't time feasible.
