Did you hear what is going to happen on 7/15/13?

Twinkees will be back on the shelves again! They will be in WalMart, but still, they are back, if you like them (and can stomach shopping at WalMart, but that's another topic entirely)!

All those suckers who bought boxes for $50 off eBay are gonna be pissed.

Some claim that freezers were created for such things as Twinkies and Girl Scout Thin Mints. I've never like Twinkees, only tried a taste of one once, when little, but I have had Thin Mints and they are just okay. My mom used to freeze them, but I never thought about freezing a Twinkee. Apparently, they don't taste "as good" after about 30 days, contrary to the tales of unlimited shelf life!

haha well I never really ate them to begin with so this won't really be a big event in my life. But I'm happy for people that do like them.

Never could stomach a Twinkie. So this is not a big deal for me. A friend of mine on the other hand.... He is sad they are coming back. He lost a lot of weight because his favourite food was gone. Now they are back? He is worried. Twinkie addict?

I never liked those Hostess sugary snacks much -- I prefer freshly made Cream Puffs and Eclairs.

Oh my, a woman after my own heart! Why is a good, fresh cream puff or eclair so darn good when it's so simple? I prefer a cream puff, but just can't be trusted to make them because I will eat them all over 2-3 days!

I always found the bakery snacks such as Hostess, Entenmann's, Little Debbies, et al. to be disappointing, but I love pasties from a good bakery. Good thing I don't have a close place to buy them, or I'd be as big as the house.

I always thought Twinkies tasted faintly banana-ish....and that doesn't appeal to me. No thanks.

I know! Even my local Safeway bakery makes really good huge Cream Puffs -- but I have pretty good self-control and won't overindulge.

Everyone that thought Twinkies were going away in the first place was just plain mistaken. The company that owned and made Twinkies went out of business, but the Twinkies name (and recipe, I presume) were sold--not destroyed--along with the rest of the company's assets when it liquidated. Given their huge popularity, Twinkies were ALWAYS going to come back (the company that purchased the name would have been crazy not to use it and produce them)
