Anyone have a good caramel apple or candy apple recipe?

I just buy some caramel candies and melt them with some butter and dip the green apples in the melted goo.

I make mine from homemade caramel. I will look up the recipe later and post it--it is sooo good!!

My homemade caramel recipe-
2 cups white sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup corn syrup
1 cup evaporated milk
1 pint heavy whipping cream
1 cup butter
1 1/4 teaspoons vanilla extract
