I personally love Smart Water and Aquafina - I don't find myself drinking anything else. What do you guys think? I've heard about various brands and what people like, but I'm more curious if you can really tell the difference.
Can you really tell the difference between water companies?

I seem to be able to taste the difference between water brands and taps more than most people I know. I liked Ozarka spring water (Nestle). Aquafina is one of many purified municipal (tap) waters (PepsiCo). Haven't tried much Smart Water (Coca-Cola), but I do like VitaminWater ZERO (Coca-Cola) as a naturally-sweetened sports drink.
I stopped buying bottled water because it felt kind of ridiculous (esp. all the little plastic bottles). It was very convenient though, and I probably drank more water. I've since bought a Brita pitcher ($15), stainless steel bottle ($15), and buy filters ever 8-12 months ($20 for 4). Tap water here is good (trusted), but very hard and I don't like the taste which means I'll drink less, hence the filter.

I probably could if I tried, but anything that's not our tap water if fine with me.
I'll drink the tap water if it's been sitting for a couple days in the fridge, but not before.

I can tell you, if someone hands me water in a glass and I can't see where it came from (what company, or the tap, etc) I WILL know if it is not the kind of water I prefer! I will almost instantly notice if it isn't one I drink most frequently! Each type of water has a different taste to it, a different scent sometimes!

There are some that are quite different, but for the most part it pretty much all tastes the same. Frankly, we are blessed with some of the best tap water in the country, which makes it even that much harder to justify doing bottled water.

I rarely drink bottled water, so that may have some effect on things, but as far as I can tell while there might be some subtle differences between various bottled waters I really don't find them to be important at all in terms of taste. Generally though tap water is okay with me.

I definitely can tell the difference.

Yes. I notice some waters have a really metallicy taste to them and I don't like it. In fact, i prefer tap water.

I can definitely tell the difference between some of them, but certain brands do taste the same. I try to drink tap water in general, as it wastes less plastic; but I recently moved somewhere with well water that is AWFUL. I have had well water before, but never anything this bad.

Some are more obvious than others, but I do notice the difference. I like Smart Water, too.

I try to avoid bottled waters in general. most of them are just over priced bottled tap waters. I prefer drinking straight from a filtered sink
12/11/2011
They all taste the same to me and I also try to avoid them. I just use my Brita pitcher and reusable water bottles

tastes the same.

Tastes the same. I buy smart water and reuse the bottle until i lose it.

I only drink Nestle water bottles, it is clean. Other companies I don't trust the water quality. there are many times newspapers showed insects inside water bottles..

I can tell the difference. The only ones I like are Poland Springs and Smart Water. I can sometimes do the other spring water brands, but I'm really picky.

it depends on what kind of water they are bottling. Most of it is just tap water, and that pretty much taste the same. The natural spring waters taste different.

I usually can't tell the difference at all. As has been stated, it's usually all tap water. Even the stuff that says it's spring water.
I usually just get whatever is in the smallest/thinnest bottle available, OR the bottle that seems best for reuse, depending on what I'm looking for. I generally try and avoid bottled water. I can bottle it myself for free thank you very much.

I drink a lot of bottled water, so I notice a difference. To me, the worst tasting waters are Dasani and Aquafina (which doesn't surprise me much, as they're both manufactured by Coke and Pepsi). My favorites (as in, having no taste) are Fiji and Evian. Just about any bottle of water is fine really as long as it isn't the first two. I don't know what it is, but they have such noticeable chemical tastes to me. *shrug*

I mainly use tap water, but I also have a Brita. My cats get more excited when I give them water from the Brita than just plain old tap water, so it must be good.

I've noticed that tap water and bottled water taste significantly different - water in general actually makes me gag unless it's flavored, but tap water's a little bit worse-tasting to me than bottled. Arrowhead is the one I drink the most.
12/15/2011
Yes! I can definitely tell a difference in taste.
12/17/2011
I can if I try but to me water is water. I only drink bottled if the tap water is coming out cloudy or discolored...or if the news has an alert to boil it before drinking for some reason.
And on the off chance I do buy a pack of bottled water I save and reuse the bottles till they're crushed or something then put them in the recycling bin.

It is tastier for sure but I usually drink from the tap. But if you were to make beer you'd definately want to use good quality water.
