My fave are actually kalmata olives, the purplish ones usually in Greek salads.

When I was younger, I liked the green better. They tickled my mouth. But as I got older, now I like the black better. Honestly though, I'd rather sidle up to the olive bar and get anything fresh before I buy canned olives.
