Eden Arts and Crafts Monthly Meeting: Sunday, October 9, 2011 @ 10pm EST.

Contributor: Elaira Elaira
It's already time for our second meeting! We sure have a lot to talk about!

In this month's meeting, we'll be discussing our theme we've decided on: Fall arts and crafts! There's so much to do for this time of year that it's a perfect focus for us! We can chat about costume and decoration ideas, festive baked goods, and throw out some ideas for gifts to start making for the holidays in December!

I'll also be taking your questions and comments about our videos we're looking for! I'm sure you've all gotten a peek at our How-To videos. We need more! From you! I'm also working on putting together a monthly contest in exchange for those. Fun stuff!

Also, I'm working on getting the time of the meeting changed so that more of you are able to attend.

Look forward to seeing everyone there!

Oh yay, it's arts and crafts day!

Was there a homework assignment I could still work in yet today?

The last one was to make something in your favorite color. There's no specific due date for them. It's just something fun to get your creativity going!

My phone (aka camera) just freaked out w/r/t its memory card, so looks like I can't play yet. I'll be thinking of something good to photograph once it's operational again, though.

I'm thinking of making a rug out of old t-shirts and latch-hook backing!

My roommate is a screen printer and brings home at least 10 a week that just pile up. I'm moving into a new apartment. Instead of lugging them around or throwing them away, we'll have a nice rug! All you do is cut the shirts into 4"x1" strips and use a latch hook or crochet hook to pull them through the backing. Super easy, thrifty, and fun!

Just another note: I am trying to get the time for the meeting changed. This one doesn't seem to be ideal for most people's schedules.

That looks super easy to do! It looks like it's just two colors of green yarn. I think I might add that to my "things to make at some point" list! I have so much yarn!

That rug is awesome.

My latest project was my strap-on harness. I posted about it here for anyone who hasn't seen it.

That's really awesome! It would be super cool if you could snap some good pictures of it and maybe do a step-by-step tutorial with either a video or photos composed as one! There's a special surprise for anyone who submits how-to videos!

Any craft store usually has some. You can also find it online very easily.

I'll have to see if I can make a video. I have a bad habit of over-booking myself and never getting things done.

What sorts of things fall into the realm of 'crafts'? I've been pondering a few woodworking projects lately but I don't know how well those 'how-to'. There's generally a little practice required to get a good result.
