One last thing. If you guys were to improve these meetings and get more people involved, what would you do to accomplish that?

Eden's home page is the place to start. It is absolutely horrible in terms of allowing people to find anything EF other than store items. Just redesigning that one page to include better, more intuitive links to other areas of the site would be a vast improvement.

Of course if you just want warm bodies, offer prizes or gift cards to those who attend.

That's a hard one there. I have been thinking about that for months. I can not think of anything does not involve some kind of reward for folk participating. I know that would work but I do not feel they would be putting there hart and soul into it, it would just be for the perk's.

I agree, I would avoid give aways. They are attracting people for the wrong reasons. People need to have a sense of ownership and want to improve EF. I think Ivy is right about somehow making it known that our opinions get things changed for the better.

Fair enough on both you counts. The hard part about giving proof that somebody's suggestion went somewhere is that if it's anything other than say, changing how a meeting is run, it's going to take a long time to get implemented. I mean, Kindred's Big Brother Big Sister thing is a perfect example. He brought it up almost a year ago and that idea has created a number of other assistance programs that are currently being worked on, but all we can really say is that it's "in programming" and that could take a long time too.

If we go back over the past meetings, I bet we come up with a lot of things this group has accomplished.

Even a message from the person who is actually in charge of whatever aspect the suggestion referred to would be something. Actually involving the suggestee in some way or another in creating a solution to the problem would be even better.

I have an idea, rather than give aways each meeting, what if we tally all of the changes implemented and have a vote as to the best idea at the end of the year and reward then. That might give incentive to not only participate but to help implement change. Just an idea.

I will try to make a list of that as well for the next meeting.

Ok, I have to announce real quick that the meeting is "officially" over. However I'm not going anywhere, and will be chatting for a while.

I think that once summer winds down and folks start coming back around the meetings (all of them) will pick back up.

Someone suggested having minutes from previous meetings. Simply listing who made what suggestions and what, if anything, has been done based on the suggestions, at the next meeting, would give positive feedback to those who offer constructive ideas at the previous meeting, and would encourage them to keep attending and trying to improve EF.
Please pardon my grammar, I was trying to write this quickly.

A lot of times the ideas are a brainchild of everybody at the meeting. One person brings something up and everybody works to figure out how we can make it work best for us. We do our best to implement changes brought up at these meetings, and give you guys the credit for the ideas.

Ah. Okay. Then more general feedback at the next meeting, maybe. But feedback of some kind from the powers that be to show that our voices are being heard. Just letting us know that work is in progress even if it isn't visible yet.

I get what you're saying. Sometimes we also forget to keep track of the things that are changing, which is part of why we ask you guys to bring up literally anything you want to talk about. It might have slipped our minds to provide certain updates, but there's no harm in reminding us to get that information either

It would be great if it was posted somewhere for all to see, like at the top of the forum page (a link or something), that way all could see what great work can/is/will be done, just by participating in the meetings. Maybe folks would get interested.

That brings up another idea. "Stickies", forum threads that are permanently kept at the top of the relevant section because they have information that is important or urgent for that section.
