For some people this really annoys them to have to work, or go to school on their birthday. 12/14/11 is my birthday and i'll be working most of the day with plans on the weekend to go out and have some fun. I think at a younger age it bothered me more to not have the day off for my b-day, more so in high school. Overall it doesn't bother me anymore, just another reminder that i'm 1 year older.
Are you annoyed when you have to go to work/school on your B-day?

Last year I worked on my birthday on purpose and took the weekend off instead. More fun that way.
I know I'm still young, but after 21 there aren't really any birthday landmarks. So, meh. My mom deserves the credit on the day, anyway.

I don't mind too much about having to attend college on my birthday. I'm giving an inspirational speech on Doctor Who, whilst dressing the part (11th, as I have the clothing needed) and acting quite eccentric. XD My boring classmates might think I've been having a bit of legal birthday drinking.

Nope, I'm a grown-up, it comes with the territory.
12/12/2011
It never bothered me. My old boss used to take me out for lunch to celebrate.
12/12/2011
I work from home, so I always take the day off
12/12/2011
I don't particularly like going in to work ANY day, so I'm the same amount of annoyed as I am any day lol

Every company I've worked for has always had a policy that your birthday was a "personal day" with pay. I just happened to luck out that I was entering the workforce when companies were trying to figure out how to keep employees.

Even if I don't complain about it, it always does bother me a little bit.

It doesn't particularly bother me, but now that I am working and my work is good about this stuff I usually end up taking a half day so I can still enjoy a full birthday even if I do work for the first part of it.

It annoys me to work on my birthday, even though I'll forget my own B-day half the time anyway. It irritated me worse when I was still working somewhere that had a clock-in clock that came up with "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" on the screen when you clocked in on your birthday.

I'm okay with working and going to school on my birthday, but only if the professor doesn't assign crazy hw and my boss doesn't ask me to do inventory.
12/12/2011
Life goes on, no matter it's a special day or not.
12/12/2011
I usally take the day off since it close to the 4th of July anyway.

I hate when hubby has to work on our bdays!
12/12/2011
i would prefer to not do work on my bday but whatever
12/12/2011
If my birthday is on a weekday, I'm working. I could care less, it's just a day.

I kinda like it. My final day of highschool was my eighteenth birthday, it was a blast!

I would love to see that speech. Are you going to wear the fez?

Sadly, I don't have a fez. I do however, own a stetson-type hat! Too bad no one's allowed to record speeches in class, or I'd bother someone to run the video on my turn. XD

Yes! My birthday has always fallen during school break though.
12/13/2011
A little, but it depends. Usually I love my work. Still, my partner always does something to make my Bday special.

My birthday is in the Summer, and since I haven't yet found employment, I've not had to work OR go to school on my birthday! That'll be changing this coming year though....

I sure hope you get to find some employment then! It's not easy these days, but hey maybe you will find some as an early B-day present?

This never actually happened, because I was born in summer, but I would go.
12/20/2011
I don't mind since I don't have a night job so I can still Chill, relax, or party a little after I get off work anyways. Mine as well make the money to spend it for that night.
12/20/2011
My birthday is on christmas, so with 90% of jobs, I'd have that day off.
12/29/2011
I used to get really annoyed. I try to request the day off if I really want a break, otherwise I can deal, and it makes me that much more excited to celebrate. But I'll usually request the weekend off, or something.
