Would you wear an electric collar? :D

Contributor: DreamWolf DreamWolf 04/05/2012

I know that they are for dogs, but human use would be amazing, I would definitely wear one! :D

Here is one btw...

Ok, the mask is funny looking, am just not sure if the voltage has to be different for humans... :D ^^

Just forget the mask, it was just an example...

I also wonder if casual electric training collars could be used by humans... ^^

I voted "I am not sure" .. I don't think I would. I'd have to learn more about it before making a decision like that. It really does sound scary lol

I'm pretty sure that humans aren't supposed to wear electric collars designed for dogs. If I remember correctly, we have a lot of important nerves in our necks, and a strong shock could damage your heart. I saw a guy hold an electric dog collar and walk across the invisible fence as a dare, and it did a LOT more damage to his hand than I would be comfortable having done to my neck.

If you wanted to wear one, I would suggest wearing it somewhere below your waist, like around your leg or something, to avoid messing with your heart or taking serious damage. I think some collars like that have a note on the packaging saying how many joules it emits, so you could use that and cross reference some medical stuff to see if it's safe for you.

I would probably not, just because things are usually not designed for people for a reason. Then again if you're careful with it I guess you could avoid most of the harm?

I voted other because I'm not so sure I feel so opposed to it that I'd say the GD word! I would not ever wear a shocking collar though. I'd feel like a dog, not a lady! Lol

Yes I would, but only under the condition that I know that the exact collar in question is safe for a human to wear.

I would try it out. Since I'm a puppy. But I don't know if I would like it. I guess if I was bad and needed to be punshiment.

No, I wouldn't. Most electrostim play is supposed to be done below the waist to avoid shocking the heart. Humans have much different physiologies than dogs. A dog's neck muscles are not only stronger, and thicker, but their muscles protect their nerves, blood vessels and especially their vagus nerve better than our neck muscles do.

I would do some research onto the human neck, throat and vagus nerve, then learn about the heart muscle and electricity's effect on it that close, and then make sure that the amount of electrical current, (not necessarily just voltage, the amount of current is what matters to the heart, which runs on an internal electrical charge) is similar, and not larger than commonly used electrostim kits for human play.

Safe, sane and consensual, with the emphasis on SAFE in this situation.

Happy researching!

Not if it was my choice but I would wear one for Master if he wanted. We got shock therapy nipple clamps and a probe because they thought ammuses him to use them on me.

Yes. They're extremely safe for use on humans. Electrical shock collars have two prongs that run off of them. The electrical current only flows between the two prongs. It does not travel through the body in any other place than between those two prongs. It does not affect the heart as there is no current that runs anywhere near that section of the body.

In most cases, part of this is true. But, electricity doesn't always run in a straight line. It takes the path of least resistance (according to My Man, the Electrical Engineer) and it is possible for structures within the neck to interfere with the path of the current.

I have NO idea if it's safe or not, I'm just running on what I know about human physiology, being a nurse and what My Man knows about electricity, being an R&D Engineer.

I also don't know what the current and voltage is on these things. I just know I wouldn't put one on my dogs...

I think if someone wanted to use one, they should do their research, make sure they are completely healthy and rule out any issues with current, voltage and the electrical path that the current may take. This is one of those things where one needs to research, not just take it on faith that "if it's safe for a dog, it should be for me."

Well, I clearly remember reading instructions from the iStim to not use it above the waist. Like P'Gell said, it's kinda dangerous. I like electro stimulation, but not enough to risk my life for it

Hell no. I'd rather not risk the chance of oh, I don't know, *dying* for a scene. Also, I care too much about the bottoms I play with to do something like this to them. I've seen these do damage to someone's hand (like the poster above-a friend was dared, and did it) and having that amount of damage to the throat where there are so many arteries and nerves could be fatal.

LOL I'd almost forgotten about those collars! Detonation is a bit different from electrocution, but I'll still never be able to look at dog collars the same way again!

they do make human shock collars. i have one for one of my human pets. there is even a remote controlled controller with it. it's way fun, but not for someone that isn't used to heavy electrical play.

doing any electrical play above the heart is foolish and MUST be thought out very carefully...I mean the part about death caused by that type of play.

As far as I know from personal experience, they hurt, but aren't dangerous (if my dog was going to wear it, I wanted to make sure it wasn't too painful). However, I zapped myself on the hand, and unlike dogs, most humans don't have a layer of fur to protect their neck.

I would wear one, but not all the time, and only if I had some assurances of safety. I want it to hurt I just don't want to die in a BDSM related incident.

I do not agree with their use in dogs nor in their use in humans.

Also if anyone has a heart condition such as arrythmias, history of blood clots, murmurs, blood pressure problems this type of collar is dangerous.

I've seen some videos where slaves/subs were wearing modified collars around their balls. THAT looked like some good, painful fun! I'd do it! Unfortunately, my wife doesn't like the idea at all.

I wouldn't wear such a collar around my neck, though.
