Bit of a newbie, just wanted some opinions on the tools I've seen here. If you prefer something I didn't list, tell me in the comments!
Which tools are nice and gentle for someone just getting into flogging/spanking?

I'd like some input, very new. I'd like something with a sting but won't reduce me to man-tears...

Most of those look plenty gentle enough, some even look more like SUPER gentle. For someone who DOES NOT incorporate actual pain, but only a good sting into their play, we tend to prefer rubber. I don't know why, but it works for me. I guess because you can slap pretty hard and not have to worry about accidentally causing real pain to the other person. We like the rubber the most. The tickler thing with a rubber whip on the end and a feather puff on one end is nice and fun, but really cheapish and won't last or produce much of an effect. The tickler end is fun for tickling or running across the back/stomach to relax your partner. It works for both teasing and relaxing, but it's really not worth the money. I'd prefer having a good feather tickler that's larger and a whip that's larger rather than a tiny two-in-one.

The paddles aren't bad either. I don't do fur, but some have faux fur--but you have to be SURE it's truly faux--and those harldy cause real pain.
A crop... I don't know about. I get the impression that those are more for people who are truly into the pain part and so we've never bought one for sexual purposes.

Even though Sex and Mischief red rope flogger is made for beginners, it's not very good quality wise. I would go with something slightly better made, but still soft. Fetish Fantasy Series velvet lover's paddle seems like a good choice.

I voted for the Fur Lined Paddle, because I have one and i love it it's very gentle for a begginer.

It depends a lot on your personal style but the fur lined paddle or lover's paddle are great for beginners.

The lovers paddle and the fur lined paddle look good for beginners. I haven't tried any of those listed. Always make sure to not swing with all your might when playing with any paddle b/c that does help.

i say velvet lover's paddle

the rope flogger would give a nice dull thud without the stingy effect

I say anything with a lining will help for the first few times. Maybe get one with a lining and one without? Alternate between the two?

I like the fur paddles. I'm also a fan of this lelo whip.

It's all in how they're "applied"

I'd go with the velvet one if you're looking for something low on the pain scale. I guess that or the fur-lined one.
