What type of rope?

Contributor: David88 David88
So my wife and I have talked about some really simple bondage type stuff of being tied up. We don't have a headboard for handcuffs or like that so I've thought some rope would be good. My question is do we actually have to get rope designed for this purpose or is there something you can get somewhere like Walmart that will work about the same? It's obviously not to be painful but more just fun any suggestions?

I would really recommend silk bondage rope simply because it's designed for BDSM play - it will tie easily and feels good against the skin.

There are a lot of other things that would work for these purposes besides rope, too, like an under the bed restraint system or a set of bondage sheets, if you aren't specifically interested in ropes.

Here's a page that has Eden's bondage ropes and some guides on getting started. IMO, the rope sold at regular stores is too rough and even though you may want to play rough, the silk ropes or specific bondage ropes are much better suited to bed play.

Bondage Rope Stuff

In the movies, they often use these types of ropes, because they look good, but don't usually leave nasty marks, and tend to not pinch as much as store bought rope.

I, personally, prefer Sports Cuffs with tethers, but to each his and her own.
