Writing my review made me wonder -- has anyone had rust issues with the pinwheel sold here?

Interesting question. Since it's chrome plaited steel, I would assume it could possibly rust because chrome does oxidize over time.

Can't say that I have had rust issues - it's made of chrome-plated brass from what I've observed. My #1 problem with my wheels (regardless of source) is that you're pretty much on your own to find a suitable sheath - they will poke through many materials, and I've had at least one that poked through something and bent the tines.

That one does not get used in play.

I used to have one, and that never rusted. It appears to be the same make as the one sold here.

As mentioned in my review link the Wartenberg stores nicely in most standard sized pencil cases. The tines can get bent or damage other toys if it's left floating loose in a toybag.

I should think that if one is to get it wet, they would promptly dry it off before putting it away again.

I do not have first hand experience with that yet, but I have seen several people caution against leaving it wet due to potential rust issues.

Huh...I thought all the products in "light bdsm kits" were blindfold/restraint sets, so I didn't know EF carried these. Neat.

Thanks for sharing all of the info on this question. I've never seen a toy like this before.

i have not hand any issues of my pinwheel rusting. for storage we made a leather sheath. but it tends to just sit on the bed room shelf.

I have had no problems. Mine came with a case. But I think a quick wipe to remove moisture and storage in a dry place and you should have no problems

I store mine in a leather pouch and I don't think they'll rust

no rust but ours was machined badly so i had to spread it a little and then lube it up so it didn't just stop wheeling and gouge.

thx for the heads up. I have just ordered one and waiting for it to arrive. I did wonder if it came with its own case.
I'll just make my own leather one, then

I recently redesigned our playroom and went in search for new storage for our Pinwheel. Our collection of sharp toys has grown, so I got one of those plastic school pencil boxes to store all of our sharp toys in, and it works great!
