I might just be old fashioned, but I find that the only truly authentic collars are black... How do you feel?
How do you feel about coloured collars?

I don't see any reason why a collar would NEED to be black. Sure if you are into ONLY black leather, black boots, black vest, black collar, etc then I guess that would work to 'keep the theme going' but there is no legitimate reason not to use something fun or cute.
In fact, I think it could almost be sexier to use something adorable and innocuous looking but that is really sturdy and restricting. That jaguar collar looks good, and me and my partner have the purple nylon bondage cords which I absolutely love.
To me, it gets boring to look at the same stuff, same color, all drab all the time. I like bright things, it's interesting. That's the same reason I like colored fishnets or costumes on girls in porn and love when people have tattoos. You see enough naked bodies and it all looks similar. I am a very visual person and love having something to brighten up a scene, and for me toys are no different. Given a choice between something in plain black and something in a color (or especially a pattern!) I will choose the most interesting one every single time.

I like to color coordinate, so if I'm wearing purple lingerie, a purple collar; red lingerie, red collar; etc.

i like having a collar that's is my collar, i don't like to have more than one, mine is teal

I don't think it matters. I personally like the pink collar and have been hoping to get one. If a couple prefers to only use black, that's okay too. It's whatever works for that particular couple.

It all depends on the look you're going for. I don't really see how a collar being a color other than black makes it any less "authentic," and I think some of the brightly-colored ones are really cute.

Unless you're Old Guard leather, I don't see why all kinky leather items have to be black. *shrugs* Brightly coloured leather is still leather at the end of the day.

Colors are pretty. Variation is good. (And yeah, for some people, having something symbolic that doesn't even look like a collar is fun...)

I like the colorful ones.
Black leather is pretty too, but colors are nice.

To me, the big issue is quality, not color. As long is the collar is sturdy and comfortable, the color of it is not a important to me. I think that brightly colored collars and cuffs have a bad reputation because they tend to be made for a less utilitarian crowd, and sometimes aren't as well crafted as a plain leather one.

Well said. I think that they're all beautiful and amazing, as long as they're quality products. I like a little silly fun with my dark, ominous kink

Different people like different colors. I think it's great that there are options.

personally i like black. i think it looks sexy on me because of my paler skin tone. i could see getting different color gear to match outfits or to complement your skin.

Some colors would be fine to keep with the mood set by the fact you're wearing a collar in the first place. All this candy pink and baby blue collar stuff I see around eden really leaves a bad taste in my mouth though; for some reason the most valley "like um look how like into fetish I am!" that my mind can muster is always just audible in the back of my brain while viewing these items.

Perhaps some nice jewel tones would do better?

i have nothing against coloured collars, but to me classic black is more 'get down to it' serious ;D

Hey, whatever floats your boat. Personally, black is way more of a domineering color. I don't want to play dress up, but some people do.

Can't beat black. There's just a hidden dominant element to it.

I like different colours for my own use but red and black for professional use.

I think collars look good in plenty of collars besides black--depends on your style. For example, steel. I prefer collars that are red
