I'm looking into my first ever pair of handcuffs, and I'm not sure about what kind would be ideal. Fuzzy? The velcro ones? Plain silk restraints? My bf is leaving the decision up to me, and I was wondering if anyone had any input for a first-timer?

As a couple that was new to BDSM, we decided to skip the handcuffs and opt for something more versatile, as well as comfortable. You can read our review of the underbed restraint system here

I like Sportcuffs wrist cuffs. link I have the black ones. I have experimented before with metal handcuffs and found them very uncomfortable for long sessions. The sportcuffs are adjustable, so my husband and I can both wear them. They're made of neoprene, which is a lot more comfy. The only downside to these that we have seen so far is that you're somewhat limited in how you can restrain someone with them if you don't already have some sort of bondage bar. You can tie someone's hands in front of them or behind them, of course. We have a metal bed frame, so this extends our options somewhat. (We haven't shelled out the money for a bondage bar--yet.)
Hope this helps.
