What was it? Did they have good selection? I have only bought mine online.
Ever bought BDSM toys in a real life store?

Nope, I've only ever been to a real life store (general sex shop, not BDSM centric) a few times and I was considering buying some "BDSM 101" level wrist cuffs (if I had to venture a guess, I'd say they were almost like the Sex and Mischief beginner's handcuffs on here), but my mother was with me and I couldn't explain to her why I wanted them without sort of outing my interest in BDSM so I decided not to get them.

We have one BDSM store around here, but the selection isn't great. I did find a flogger I'd been looking for online but couldn't, so I bought that. There was a gag I liked as well, but I only had the money for one item and went with the flogger.
The regular sex shop we go to has a limited BDSM section, but I've bought a few small items there.

There are only general shops in my city as far as I know. I bought a couple of riding crops, a cane and a paddle in one store. Everything broke but the paddle, though the others were rather cheap. The selection isn't great, but they're pretty good for fetish wear.

We have a shop filled with all sorts of weird stuff, and in one corner of the store there are copies of Fifty Shades with purchasable handcuffs and whips surrounding it. I debating on it, until I remember that the best and highest quality stuff you can find (not to mention discreetly purchase) is online, through specialized retailers.

I have and the only thing I know for sure that I got at a in person store were nipple clamps.

Most large sex stores have a fairly decent BDSM section. They make a lot of money off of it. When I lived in a bigger city I bought most of my gear at a local sex shop. I only started buying all my toys online when I moved to a rural small town with no sex shop around.
I've also gotten a lot of my leather clothing at in person sex shops.

I bought a collar but that was it. Not much stuff around here.

I've never seen a sex store that was bigger than a one room front parlor area, although there are tons of those around my area. The selection is never really too grand for toys, much less BDSM sections.

If erotica counts, then yeah. Other than that, nope. I live about a half hour away from a BDSM store, but they don't have a very good selection. I've bought some fetish wear from there, though.

Just once. It was my first flogger (which I still have). I wasn't planning to buy it, I was browsing some shops with my friends and it caught my eye. I was about 15 at the time.

I haven't gone to a BDSM store but I've bought stuff like rope and duct tape at walmart or something.
