I CAN, but prefer not to. I actually have the one that has an "o" ring that goes in your mouth, so I can breathe through it.

I have this but the strap kind of broke eventually :/ we're looking to get a more heavy duty one. It's a shame they don't make this in higher quality

have you considered an o-ring gag?

The problem with breathable ones I find is the material. They are not made of silicone so they have a funky taste and smell bad. For this reason I prefer ones made of silicone. If breathing is a problem I would suggest a bit gag. Also ring gags are lots of fun and leather doesnt taste or smell bad either.

I bought this and it has held up quite well. Mine hasn't broken but for how cheap it is I am impressed it lasted long at all. It is pretty high quality considering. It is easy to breathe through.

Keep in mind that both breathable ball gags like the one you linked and O-ring gags are going to cause a lot of drooling (whereas a standard ball gag will generally result in a bit less). Whether that's a pro or a con depending on personal preference and what you want the gag to do.

I'm afraid to try a solid ball but my husband recently got very interested in this so we are currently looking for a gag. I'm a little anxious and flighty when it comes to bondage but it fascinates me and I want so badly to try, so we walk a thin line in picking out the right gag. That said I do not think I could handle a solid ball.

I use one for self bondage. Both O-rings and breathable ball gags are messy but if I want something that is messy AND easy to clean up I go with O-ring since the ball you have to actually soak to get the inside cleaned out (it starts to stink if you don't) but O-rings you just rinse.

I'm really excited to get into gags for the first time; I'm currently waiting on an order for the beginner ring gag, as I think my wife would rather have something easily breathable to start out. If that's a hit, then on to a full ball; the breathable ball seems like an unnecessary intermediate step, in that it lacks the silencing properties of a full ball while precluding the mouth-play possibilities of a ring.

This is all purely theoretical of course...so far. Hoping that will change in short order!

I recently purchased a solid silicone ball and after using is several times, I now wish I had purchased a breathable ball. I love the cleanliness of the silicone ball, the look and feel of it as well but sometimes I get panicky and need to remove it in order to restore my breathing. Not fun when in the middle of a scene!
