I've stretched my ears and have never heard of this. What are you supposed to do with it? O.o

I heavily recommend that you go to your local piercing shop/parlor (Not a piercing gun stand in Claire's.) and have them advise you on this. If you're asking these kinds of questions, you really should have somebody experienced mentoring you in the process (Yes, it's a process!).

This is your body, you really want the best results with this kind of thing since you can only do it once!

The way you'd use bondage tape is to slowly stretch from one size to the next. You wrap the bondage tape around the jewelry you have for the size you're currently at. Add layers to increase the size until you're at the next full size up.

I understand that part, I guess it's more of me not understanding how bondage tape works. If it isn't sticky how does it stay on the plug? And why bondage tape instead of a different kind of tape?

It is never safe to do stretching unless you are advised by and helped by a professional piercer. You can really ruin your ears, get horrible infections, blow out the piercing, etc. I really suggest talking to a piercer before you do anything with your ears.

That might not be a good idea because bondage tape is slightly porous. You want something SOLID to put in your ears, otherwise it gets infected and gross. Think about it like you would sex toys: silicone, stone, and glass are the safest for plugs.

Stretching is fine to do by yourself if done properly. you dont need to have a professional do it for you, you just have to do it safely and the right way.

Yeah. I'm gonna talk to someone who's already stretched their ears properly about it.

You don't need to talk to a piercer about stretching anything unless you cannot find correct information online but I've always found any information about stretching whatever you want easily so you shouldn't have a hard time with that.

To use it, you just take a section and your plug and measure it out and cut it to size and then wrap it around the plug. It won't stick to the plug because it doesn't have anything sticky on it, but it will stick to itself, so you just have to get it around the one time.

You only do a few wraps, your ears will tell you if you've wrapped too much. I also would rewrap it with new tape once a week and clean your ears to keep up the hygiene.

You can use bondage tape to stretch anything. Nostrils, Septum, Ears, Lip, anything that is stretchable. Its a very good method because it's very gentle. Its recommended that you start taping when you get to a 6g, because the size increments are larger in between sizes. Its definitely recommended from a 2g on.

In respons to what some other commenters have said, it's definitely safe for stretching, don't worry. There's a blog I follow run by several experienced and knowledgable professional piercers, and they agree that it's pretty much the only safe way to stretch, because wrapping the tape around the piercings allows you to go slowly and use the sizes between the existing gauges, so that you don't stretch too fast. Bondage tape is the safest because it's not sticky, the glue on regular tape is extremely bad for your ears, and it can make dirt and germs get stuck in your piercing. I have never heard of anyone ever having any problems stretching with bondage tape.
