No they're not nappy like your previous ones. They are really soft and feel great. I suppose they could break with enough force applied. But for teasing purposes they're great

They're nice rooster plumes. Nothing like the cheap turkey feathers you buy in the kid's craft section at Wally World that fall apart and are broken all over and bug eaten. lol
