I'm wanting a good beginner's harness/dildo set. I don't want to spend a ton, which is why I've picked these two. I want something that is going to be comfortable for both people, but it won't be getting very much use so keep that in mind. Probably once or twice every 6+ months. The dildo on the Sportsheets one looks less intimidating, but I'm concerned that the harness isn't as comfortable or the dildo won't be enough. The Cal Exotics one looks like a more comfortable harness, but the dildo looks a bit big. Size is an issue for the guy, he doesn't want anything "too big".

Having never used either of them (our first harness was the bend over beginner's kit), I voted for the Lover's super strap. A couple of things I noticed. The lover's super strap harness looks very similar to the one we have. You can change out the o-ring to accommidate different size toys, important if it turns out that you end up using it more than intially anticipated. The new comers kit doesn't look like it has this capability. Also the lover's super strap has a pouch in the center for a bullet vibe (doesn't look like the kit includes a vibe though). This will give you the option to have some clitoral stimulation during use. The dildo is larger on the lover's super strap, but it's nothing insanely large. If you warm him up with a lubed up finger first, he should be fine. Hope this helps.

I'm unable to comment on what's better, but here's another option for you: the Latigo leather harness.
It's gotten a lot of good reviews, it's fairly inexpensive, and it has the ability to interchange rings.
The Newcomer's doesn't have the ability to interchange rings, but it comes with a silicone dildo, whereas the Lover's has an interchangeable ring, but comes with a TPR dildo. The Latigo doesn't come with any dildo, so you can choose what you want without basing the purchase on the dildo itself.

I would second the Latigo leather harness. It's a good basic harness and allows you to use your own dildos rather than getting one as part of a kit.

We have two harnesses-one from Bend Over Beginner Kit and Buzz Me Tender harness. The Buzz Me Tender Harness is our favorite. It is well made and has two pouches for small vibrators to stimulate her clitoris while she fucks me. Both harnesses can accept a variety of dildos. As far as dildos are concerned-the maximum diameter that is comfortable for me is 1 5/16 inch, but 7 inches long is fine. Our two favorite dildos are Vibrating Mistress and Vibrating Leisure. We much prefer silicone dildos. Use lots and lots of lube. We like Wet Original.

I didn't want to vote since I haven't tried the second one, but I just wrote a review on the first one. I like it, and my girlfriend and I liked that it comes with a silicone dildo that isn't at all realistic. If you have any questions about it, just ask. :]

Of the two, I'd go with the thruster. However, I don't think either of these are the best choice. For a starter kit, I would go with the Sportsheets Heart Harness. The dong is a decent size, the harness is comfortable and it's cheap. Once you decide that this is something you want to do...get something better.

If we're talking about putting something up the guy's butt, the dildo on the Lover's Super Strap is going to be way too big for a beginner guy. Way too big. I'd recommend the Sportsheets harness more. The dildo is a bit slim and will require a bit of finangaling since it's also a bit short, but at the same time, it's going to be a lot more comfortable for someone to see. After all, looking at gigantor dildo versus moderate dildo: which one makes you feel more comfortable for something going up your butt?
The Lover's harness also seems to sit awkwardly high on the hips, and Sportsheets usually makes good quality stuff from what I've tried. I own a couple of their harnesses and like them.

I personally enjoyed the Bend Over Beginner kit harness. It came with Silk Small and Silk Medium dildos, which were just about the right size.

New comers strap-on kit imo.

Being new to receiving a pegging from my girlfriend the dildo shouldn't be to long. The length for me at least can cause more discomfort rather than the girth.

We're hoping to order the Bend Over Beginners in the next week or two since that seems most likely to 'hit the spot' for us (we want one with both a vibe for my benefit and small dildoes for hubby's)

I strongly recommend buying separately. For a quality harness and dildo you're not spending much more, and you can choose exactly what suits you.

New comer's strap on set.

Even for beginners, I recommend paying a little more for one of the more well reviewed harnesses. My favorite is the Minx.

I hope you find the best set both pleasing to you and your partner(s)

Lover's super strap harness

a better choice might be a separate purchase, harness and then strapon. this way you could choose size for the toy. the joque harnesses are great, but kinda pricey - wait for a sale.

For use on him, the New comers strap-on kit. It's small and good to start with to lead to bigger ones.
10/11/2012
Well, the New Comers is a Sportsheets harness, so that part should be OK.

Any newbies to harness' reading this, check out the Kink Lab Adjustable harness. It goes up wit 50" and it's leather. Comes with 3 O-rings for $50. It's sturdy! It does look plain, but it's a great harness! Just need a dildo to go with it. I like my Perk.

The first one seems less intimidating to me.
