Warming lube isn't a "type" of lube but rather an element that could be added to a silicone-based or water-based lube. That being said, I prefer water-based because it's safe for all toys. I've never tried silcone-based before, though, but I plan on getting some for only sex and silicone lube-safe toys because it lasts longer and will work in the shower, unlike water-based.

I hate water-based lubes but love silicone ones.

I like water-based. It's much easier to clean up and is perfectly sufficient for our needs. We use silicone based in the shower only.

The best kind of lube is the one that works best for you. Make sure to get one that feels good to you and doesn't mess with your toys or trigger any chemical sensitivities.

A number of companies offer samples of their lubes to help you find what you like best.

I'd say start with water based at first, then expand later.

Any advice on hypoallergenic lubes?

I'm allergic to edible lubes and KY - causes terrible pain, inflammation and hives.

I'd like to try other lubes but I really don't want another reaction that makes it almost impossible to have sex or masturbate for 1-2 weeks.

You're probably allergic to parabens. If not that (or in conjunction to it), you may be allergic to glycerin. Parabens, if you're not allergic, are pretty harmless. Glycerin, however, can sometimes cause yeast infections so it's best to avoid them, regardless. With your next lube, make sure that it doesn't have any glycerin (also written gylcerine) or parabens (such as methylparaben, ethylparaben, propylparaben, or butylparaben).
