In the beginning I was always asked this question, "What is the difference between submission and surrendering?" Over time I came to understand why the question was asked and what the difference actually was. This question is always in my head and I although I found the answer my Domme was looking for after several lessons, conversations, and growth, I wonder how others would answer the same question. So I ask you, "What is the difference between submission and surrendering?"

To me, surrender involves actively giving up your control. It is not necessarily a permanent scenario. There isn't necessarily trust established, nor is it something you necessarily enjoy.

Submission, IMO, involves a desire and willingness to do anything you're asked. It involves completely trusting the person to provide you with what you want and/or need. You enjoy it unequivocally. There is no question of "Will I do what he/she is telling me?" You do it willingly and happily.
(I could be completely off, but that's the impression I get when I think of when I surrender myself versus when I submit.)

For me while being submissive you're still very much in control, you set the rules and have an escape route if things get to rough. Surrendering on the other hand is giving all control over to your Dom. Surrendering involves a lot more trust and love then submission.

That's actually how I feel. I'm submissive - not a surrenderer!
For me to surrender would leave me feeling helpless and I don't like that feeling. It would be against my will.
But I love to be submissive to my Master cause I trust him!
