Question about being suspended

If you are suspended on a spreader bar, do your arms tend to get sore?

The 'average' size of spreader bar is around 30-36 inches long. If your entire body weight is being hung from your wrists, with your arms stretched out that far, then yes, you are definitely going to have sore arms. And possibly more than sore. I'd be worried about my shoulder possibly dislocating/the strain on my wrists, etc.

Agree with Pixel.

They crucified people that way for a reason.

Suspension from something like your wrists is NOT something I would recommend for any significant length of time.

Yea, it's probably not the best thing to suspend someone by

Yes, and it made my right wrist and thumb numb for days after.

It made me seriously wonder if there were nerve damage there, and made me wary of suspensions in general ever since then.

I was suspended that way, while being tickled by a crowd, while being blind-folded and wearing a "tickle me" sign at a play party. It is something I would definitely never do again, particularly while being tickled, because I would edge/ spin/ in general try to escape from the tickles, which put even more strain on my wrists.

I had rope marks for +1 day, I'm pretty sure, and it took forever for my right wrist to feel okay again.

I don't remember how long I was in the position--- probably not more than 20 minutes, but definitely more than 10. I mostly felt the need to stay that way out of feeling hard-coreness. Everyone kept saying, "I bet you'll give in really fast" and I wanted to prove them wrong, but when my wrists felt too hot/ burn-y, I kept telling my top, "Are my hands red?" He was like, "No," and I was like, "They feel like they're going to burn off" and finally told him to take me down and I was too afraid to say how my wrists actually felt, and played it like I was okay for days when I was like dying, super scared of damage

I'm glad I saw this discussion. We've been intrigued at the idea of suspension, but neither of us wants injuries. I think it would be better to keep a "natural" posture, i.e., arms/legs not spread much farther than shoulders/hips. Right now, we're just doing research and shopping for suspension cuffs...
