light to medium pain.

Do you like pain during sexual encounters and if yes, do you have a history of self injury?

Yeah, I used to cut a lot. Now, the boyfriend helps me deal with feelings of self harm by beating me up for me. If I'm alone, I use hot wax because it doesn't leave a mark and it's very calming, and that has obvious sexual connotations...

Every so often it's a good addition.

Not really into pain, but a little is fine once in awhile.

Seconding this. I'm a recovering self-harmer, and the concentration and the ritual of it helped me shut my feelings off; I guess the coping is similar when I top for someone, but it's not shutting off the bad feelings (in that case, usually shyness/nervousness rather than misery and anxiety). It's replacing them with something awesome and pleasurable, and I remain emotionally active throughout the whole scene. I wouldn't go into a scene or a sexual encounter in the state of mind I used to self-harm in.

I consider myself a top/switch, and I enjoy the sight of my partner enjoying the sensations more than I enjoy inflicting or experiencing pain. Oddly, while I'm very sensitive to pain IRL and even as a self-harmer didn't find the pain pleasurable (just gratifying, as in, I'd done what I'd come to do, and the whole ritual and the violent gesture was the satisfying part) but when I'm in that kinky headspace, the pain's minimized and a lot more bearable.

I self injure, but not for the pain aspect. It's not like it turns me on or anything, either.
I think there is a correlation, but I'm not sure what.

I do enjoy pain during play, but I feel it has nothing to do with my history of self harm. They evolved completely separate of each other at much different point in my life. In fact I didn't get into rougher sex into years after I stopped self harming.

I cant stand pain when I get hurt accidentally. I am a big sissy.

I used to cut my legs years ago. When it comes to sex, I do like a little bit of pain. Spanking, hair pulling, that sort of thing.
03/28/2012
I like a little bit of discomfort every now and then, but not full on pain.

Not into pain, but yet I live with it everyday and I just want it to go away.

I don't like pain and I don't self injure.

I used to self injure, but pain in small 'doses' can be nice.

I like pain, but I only like it from another person and the setting has to be right. It is not an all the time thing, but when I do like it, it can be quite intense and me still enjoying it
07/10/2012
It's not so much the pain as the being dominated that I enjoy
07/13/2012
I think the motivations for self-injuring and for engaging in BDSM are very different. At least most of the time for most people.

There is a thin line between pleasurable and painful...I enjoy walking the line. Not into self injury.
07/28/2012
I'm not really into it and neither is my boyfriend.

I like pain.
I used to self injure for the pain/pleasure. But it got outa' hand one night a really hurt myself.
Now if I want to enjoy pain/pleasure I have a partner do the act. (I am waaay to hard on myself)
