I have found that while I enjoy physical pain intentionally inflicted by my partner or myself, I absolutely hate pain otherwise.

For instance, I got my nipples pierced a couple weeks ago and was so terrified about the potential pain! Then in the bedroom the sting of a crop or his hands around my neck truly turn me on.

I can't be the only one like this! So what about you?

I enjoy self inflected pain, but also enjoy pain in the sense that you're talking about. I love getting pierced and tattooed, but there is always that element of nervousness involved when it's a new area especially. My husband isn't really into the pain stuff with me, so he doesn't so much to me.

I read somewhere that the reason might be because you're sexually aroused and the arousal makes you feel different about pain, maybe feel it less or something. As for me, no, pain doesn't turn me on. My boyfriend gifted me a spanker, I didn't even know what it was lol. I'm not sure I'd be using it any time soon. Just don't really find the appeal of spanking.

When I was younger, I used to use pain to relieve my depression. I did enjoy pain that time though but I don't inflict pain on myself anymore.

I don't enjoy any type of pain. I'm a big wuss when it comes to pain. I can suck it up and not cry about it but I am on the inside, lol. I'd never do anything just to feel the pain. I have tattoos but that was done for the art, not enjoyment- and I cried, yelled, and cursed most of the time with the one on my back, the other two weren't as bad. I'd like to get another but not sure where to put it and the detail and color is so much, I don't think I could sit through it.

i dont like pain everytime i receive it but i do love all different types a pretty good amount ;D

I like pain, self-inflicted or inflicted on me, as long as it's not excessive pain. I don't mind being a bit sore the next day, I do mind pain so intense it's comparable to an ER visit.

I chose "other" so here is my explanation. I love pain in a sexual context. It's a huge turn-on. For me, the whole BDSM thing is much more about the physical pain than the mental aspects or power dynamics that my partners seem to enjoy. So yes, I really enjoy pain that is self inflicted or inflicted by my partner in a sexual context. However, I also enjoy other forms of pain too. I'm not going out seeking pain or injuring myself; it all depends on the situation. If I trip and scrape my knee I don't like it. But I have piercings and a few tattoos and I enjoyed the pain involved in getting those. I think that maybe I enjoy pain when it's purposeful?

Only intentional pain usually - though I do love the pain of piercings!!
