Fantasy Chamber review
This Adam & Eve film, shot in 1995 and released in 2000, is based on the premise of an experimental chamber in which participants float in a water bath and are bombarded with images, causing sex fantasies. The main character participates in this study, then draws in her friend and then her boyfriend. This film attempted to have a plot, but the actual sex felt interrupted by the sections that continued the plot; a participant would enter the chamber, then alternate between being bombarded by silly, skewed symbols (many vaguely Egyptian and Pagan in origin for some reason) and having a fantasy, some self-involved and some not. In between the three separate chamber experiences, the plot suddenly popped up again in order to give the next person a reason to enter the chamber. When I read the porn description, I was looking forward to what I thought was going to be a straight-forward plot, or lack thereof, where the chamber was blatantly for the purpose of sexual exploration; voyeuristically so, even, for anyone outside the chamber. The scenes themselves ranged from an almost sweet outdoor Victorian scene (my favorite) to a trio of bondage-decked ladies intent on enjoying each other (unfortunately, the gear was mostly for show), with most every combination in between; everything but actual man-on-man action. The contrast between the attempt at a plot and even a little foreplay in some scenes, and the very porny nature of the actual sex in all of the scenes made the video a little disjointed, and DANG, was that thing long. Okay, so it was only an hour and fifty minutes, but it felt a lot longer.A positive aspect to the video was a very clear sense of equality between the men and women; most or all of the time between a male/female couples, the women clearly came first. It looks almost like a first attempt at a movie for all genders where they didn’t quite get the pacing right, but the scenes themselves worked out well, even if they were a little bit hit-or-miss as far as my personal interest was concerned. I suppose my only unqualified complaint would be that I did not like the main character at all; her body was okay, but her face and acting were distinct turn-offs.If you don’t mind watching separate, vaguely creative sex scenes separated by small sections of attempted plot, this movie is perfectly good for you. I would recommend it to those who are unsure of their erotic film preferences and to those who like varied settings and costumes.
