SSA Glass

Contributor: Owl Identified Owl Identified
I realize that Edenfantasys has just started stocking quite a lot of these glass toys, and I had a great time reviewing one of them. I've read through half a dozen reviews today and all of the pieces are so unique and seem really well crafted. I will admit some of the designs are a little odd and don't appeal to me, but I really appreciate seeing new things. I mean, glass testicles? With nubs? I've never seen anything like this before!

But I'm wondering, because I can't find too much through Google, who are SSA? I've never heard of them before this and I'm curious to know more about them. Will they be coming to us through Edenlink, perhaps?

I gotta say I love all of SSA's dildos as well. I'd love to know more. Is this an off-shoot of EF? I noticed that the bags they come with are considered EF-manufactured storage bags.

I was wondering about the bags! I thought they looked pretty similar to the EF bags but didn't want to say that in case it weren't true.

I'd love to see them on EdenLink, though. There were just so many designs all at once! Really neat stuff.

Oh! I actually just assumed they were EF bags, and the EF off-shoot thing occurred briefly to me but I didn't see why EF wouldn't announce that proudly, lol. In any case, I really love what I'm seeing so far. I hope we'll hear more about SSA soon.

I tried looking them up as well but couldn't find anything. I hope they either come to edenlink or get a more visible website.

Yeah, me too! I got a Cyclone Wand to review, and I always like to look up the company info for toys I try.

Yes, I have also tried to find out about SSA glass without sucess. What a mystery! Hoping we will find out something soon! Also wanting that Gold Laced G by SSA glass, it's currently out of stock. Please re-stock it soon EF !!

I'm right there with wetone123- in the age of the internet, don't most manufacturers want their end customers to know a little bit about the company? Even if you're selling through a retailer, letting a customer learn about the company philosophy and materials seems like an obvious thing to do. SSA, I'd love to learn who you are.

Especially when EdenFantasys spotlights such a delicious-looking dildo as the Gold Laced G, when it's out of stock!

My sweetie just got me the Midnight Twist SSA dildo, and I absolutely LOVE it. It's my first venture into the world of glass toys, and I am 100% thrilled with it. I think I'm going to be a glass toy junkie from now on!

I would like to be a fan of theirs too, so look forward to hopefully learning more about them.

Bumping because I was going to make a thread about it before I searched. I'm curious in general but I'm specifically curious about if they are made in America or elsewhere (i.e China). I got asked about which glass toys are manufactured in the US the other day.

I found a name, and then searched and found a company that also makes glass candlesticks and things, and then a few other products. But they pride themselves mainly on their fine crystal-glassware, so I'm figuring that's who they are.

I am really disappointed to learn these are made in China. I bought several and to learn that I inadvertently supported the human rights violations in Chinese factories makes me angry and sad. I thought it was a legal requirement to label imported products as such. These came with no such information.

Yup, this is why I keep poking EF to put country of origin on product pages. I'm pretty sure it is illegal to sell these without any info about where they come from.

For those of you who don't like buying made in China products, glass seems like a great opportunity to buy local. Support your local glass blowers! Glass pieces are such works of art, why not get one made by an artisan, instead of mass produced?
Simple dildos should be very easy for even beginning glass workers to make, and someone with skill and experience could make plugs and more complicated dildos. The glass pieces from large companies tend to have few colors, both to be easy to make consistently, but also so that they'll appeal to a wide range of people. But for a glass worker, fun designs in color is probably a large part of the fun. You can get pieces with swirls of many colors in irregular organic-looking designs.
So why not ask blowers if they make toys? Even if they don't usually, they'd probably make you something to your specifications.
If you've tried researching and don't know how to find your local glass studios, maybe ask at your local head shop for the contact info of whoever blows their bongs. They'd be able to make toys or direct you to someone who already does.
And if thats too much talking to people, what about Etsy? You of course have to be much more discerning about what you get (does it have a wide enough base? do they know what they're doing? etc), but you might find something unique and beautiful, and you'd be supporting a small time artist.
